Skalanews - Bank Indonesia affirmed that electronic money card program is only for card fee only, but the balance must still be purchased or paid by users.

Pungky Purnomo Wibowo, Director of Electronication and Inclusion of the Ministry of Payment and Payment System Policy of BI, said on Wednesday (11/10) that the card fee of Rp20,000-Rp30,000 will be borne by banks and Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT) . However, the balance of its electronic money remains paid by the user when the user buys an electronic money card.

"For example, the card costs Rp10 thousand borne by the bank, Rp10 thousand by BUJT, the price is zero, people still have to buy the balance," he said.

Pungky also clarified the mechanism to get the electronic money card, which is the same as before.

According to him, people who will use toll services can buy the electronic money card by simply paying the balance, when entering the toll booth.

"How to get is by buying the contents of the balance at the toll gate, if people transact there," he said.

He asserted, there is no free distribution of electronic money cards in bulk.

The card fee free program is a 50 percent saving of the card fee on August 17, 2017-31 September 2017.

Because of the enthusiasm of the community, said Pungky, the banks and the Toll Road Enterprises (BUJT) extend and enlarge the discount program.

"If the first 17-31 September 2017 50 percent discount. Later until 31 October 2017 100 percent discount, so the cost of the card is borne," he said.
