Police Still Assess Reports on Anies

Skalanews - Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still reviewing the report of the Pancasila Movement which complained about the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan regarding the alleged racial and ethnic discriminatory criminal for mentioning the word 'indigenous' during his inaugural speech at City Hall of DKI Jakarta on Monday (16/10).

"Currently still under review," said Police Public Relations Division Head Insp. Gen. Setyo Wasisto at Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Friday (20/10).

As the procedure, continued Setyo if the report meets the element then it will be followed up with the examination of the complainant and witness.

"It will definitely check the witnesses first, the reporter, expert information, then other witnesses who see, hear, and feel," he continued.

Against the reported Anies is not likely to also be called but after it checks the complainant and witnesses.

"It will check later,we will check the witnesses first. That's the right procedure," he concluded.

Due to the mention of the Indigenous Persons, Anies allegedly violated Presidential Instruction No. 26/1998 on Terminating the Use of Indigenous and Non-Individual Terms in All Formulation and Implementation of Program Planning Policy Or Implementation of Government Implementation Activities.

Not only that former Minister of Education was allegedly violating Law No. 40 of 2008 on the Elimination of Race and Ethnic Discrimination. (Frida Astuti/bus)
