Skalanews - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the negotiation process with PT Freeport Indonesia is still running and does not face any obstacles.

"We are still in accordance with the target of doing four things, namely divestment, smelter development, certainty of investment and state tax revenue, and extension of operations," Sri Mulyani said in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/1).

He said that on the extension of the operation, it will be linked to the mining business permit, will include all the main obligations that must be implemented by Freeport Indonesia.

For the construction of a smelter, he added, the government will ensure its term. While on the matter of investment and state revenue, the government will emphasize how to increase the payment of regional and central tax royalties.

"Then regarding the divestment, we also do details and steps up to the year and when to execute it," he said.

Related to the divestment, IDX President Director Tito Sulistio said it hopes PT Freeport Indonesia to conduct an Initial Public Offeting (IPO) in Indonesia Stock Exchange.

"Give the opportunity to the people to have their stock," he said.

He said that his party also had time to discuss with Freeport Indonesia to release some of its stocks to the public through the mechanism of the IPO.

"In principle, Freeport will," he said. (Ant/frida Astuti)
